Bathroom
A bathroom is a room for personal hygiene, usually containing a toilet, a sink and a bathtub, a shower or both. In real estate, bathrooms are counted by the fixtures they contain.
A full bathroom has a toilet, a sink and a tub or shower. A half bath, also called a powder room, has only a toilet and a sink. Some listings also use three-quarter bath for a room with a toilet, sink and shower but no tub.
Floor plans show bathroom fixtures with standard symbols, so a reader can tell a full bath from a half bath without a label.
Bathrooms are measured like any other room, by interior length times width, and finished bathrooms above grade count toward square footage. Common sizes are covered in average bathroom square footage.
